The Dumb Girl is written by Aslam Shah. This book is about history. Do you know why is this name given to the book? Because there is a dumb girl. In this book, there is a man whose name is hammal and he is the son of a king. Hammal's father calls him one day and says something to him then hammal says OK but you should also complete my one wish. Then the king agrees and tells hammal to share his condition. Hammal demands and says to King " You should Find a girl for me and she should be like an angel, and she should be mine in all life". His father who is the king approves Hammal's demand. The king orders his servants and tells them to go for finding a beautiful girl and she should also accept to marry hammal. The servant acts on his order and commences finding a girl.
So, later servants become successful to find a gorgeous girl whose name is known as Ayesha, and also she is the daughter of a king. Servants reveal the reality to the father of Ayesha and demand to let your daughter for marrying to Hammal. The king who is the father of Ayesha replies" I don't have any problem but I don't know whether Ayesha will accept hammal or not because once someone came for her and she didn't accept. After this, they go for asking the girl and she happily agrees and Hammal and Ayesha both get married.
One day, unfortunately, on account of a battle, both kings die with numerous people and just hammal and Ayesha remain alive. They start worrying because they don't have a home to live in. Then hammal goes to a small cottage there to live. There they find a sea so they always hammal go there to catch fish. One day Ayesha says to hammal" I wish that I should have a baby girl. After all, when you go for catching fish then I feel lonely because I am alone here".
One day there would be rain, the clouds start thundering and the wind starts blowing. Ayesha becomes worried because she is alone at home and hammal is not here. But Ayesha doesn't know that there is a piece of good news for her. She vomits a lot. late at night, hammal comes and sees that Ayesha is so much happy that she is pregnant. Then hammal asks why are you so happy? Then she explains to hammal and Hammal becomes glad. Hammal got the picture that two new guests are coming into the world. He sat all night with Ayesha and finally, at the eleventh hour Ayesha gave birth to two twin girls. They were as beautiful as angels.
The next day, all people of the village came and congratulated hammal. Hammal thanked all and went to his owner for whom he used to work. He was taking his breakfast and Hammal told him that he had a piece of good news owing to having two twin daughters. Master told," it is a million's dollar news". And the third-day Hammal arranged a party for both twins and on the same day he put the name, Aliya and Durdana. When these twins became at the age of two, they suffered from a deadly disease which is known as Red Cancer. The disease was so dangerous which made them very feeble and the chances were very less to live longer. Hammal was so worried and he was taught where should he go because there was no hospital for treatment and other hospital expenses were above his reach. He also didn't want to beg for his children because he was a Baloch and it is a kind of a shame that a Baloch should beg. And finally, hammal decided that he will work tooth to nail so that he should save his daughter from a deadly disease.
So he worked complete 2 years and finally earned money to treat them. And there was no good system of transportation so he walked for 50 miles on foot with Ayesha and both twins toward the city. Then they reached to hospital and Hammal rushed to the counter and filled out the form for the appointment and took them into the operating room. They began to treat Aliya and Durdana. And the doctor told that Hammal has brought them so late. Therefore, they can't save their life and they will die. Ayesha began yelling loudly when the doctor told these sentences. Hammal left everything to Allah by saying " He is the owner of life and death".
So later, the doctors started the operation and they took out Hammal and Ayesha from the room. It took 2 hours to operate. Hammal and Ayesha were worried that whether they will be safe or not. When the operation was finished the doctor came and said sorry that we couldn't save them. Ayesha Fell to the floor and became unconscious. They put water on Ayesha's face then she became conscious. Doctors put the dead body of the angel in the ambulance and moved toward the village.
After 2 days hammal got pain in his body due to sadness and depression of Aliya and Durdana. He didn't recover from the pain and he left this world. So Ayesha became alone and she cried. And there was nothing that she should eat, and she ate a rotted bread by which she vomited a lot. Suddenly, Ayesha's old neighbor Sharainsharoo was passing and listening to the loud sound of Ayesha that she is vomiting. So she took Ayesha to a small clinic in the village. There was a doctor known as Samreen. She treated her and later she shared great news and told that Ayesha is pregnant. So Sharainsharoo went to Ayesha's home and saw that she is worried. She told," Don't worry I have good news for you". She told the news that she is pregnant. Ayesha became glad. Sharainsharoo had two daughters Mahoo and Banady. They came and helped Ayesha. Sharainsharoo did not let Ayesha work. So complete night Sharainsharoo did not sleep because she knew that if the baby girl move in her belly so there will be a chance that she will come into the world. So Sharainsharoo became right and the baby came into the world. All villagers came and congratulated Ayesha. And villagers put her name Malahar. Baby didn't talk because she was dumb. Ayesha was worried then Sharainsharoo told her that there is an old man who can give her some suggestions.
Ayesha inquired " Where can I meet him?" Then, Sharainsharoo told whenever she wants him, he will come. He came and Ayesha told who are you. Then they planned to take the girl to the monk by saying she will be able to talk. Then they started traveling there.
Ayesha started finding the monk. It took many years to go. So Ayesha Got tired. One day, she went to a home where they welcomed Ayesha. They were a very kind person. There would be a woman called Asia, she asked Ayesha" where are you going?" Ayesha replied," I am going to meet a monk for the treatment because my daughter is not fine."Asia says that her daughter is also the same and she can't talk, can't listen, and can't see, therefore, they both start traveling to find the monk.
During the journey, they find a mountain, they feel dejected because they can't climb on the mountains. At the same time, they see a wizard. Wizard asks them" Why are you both sad and where are you going?" They tell the reason to the wizard. Wizard says" I will help you to cross this mountain but you should also help me". Ayesha says that she had been trying to go there for 2 years, and she becomes ready to help the wizard. Finally, they successfully cross the mountain but again they find an ocean. By that time, Ayesha sees a tortoise which helps her to cross the ocean. After a lot of hard work, they become successful to reach in their destination.
Monk says" I am only going to listen to three questions" but Ayesha has four questions. One monk says to Ayesha to say wizard that he should throw his magic stick which he has. Monk says again" tortoise should take off its shells that it uses for its comfort. tortoise thinks and says" I can't take off them but I will give them to you", the wizard meets and the wizard gives her to stick to Ayesha.
After a long time, Ayesha goes to Asia's home. A girl comes and Ayesha sees that is she the woman that she came to that day who was dumb. All becomes happy that she is seeing, talking, and listening. So she starts going towards her village and sees her daughter whom she is talking to so they will become happy. And They will decide that they will send Mahal,Mahoo, Malahar, And Banady for reading in Turbat. So they send them. There is a man who is Jehand. He takes them to his home in Satellite. The next day, Jehand takes them to Kech Grammar High School. They behave well with the principal, the principal gives them admission. They sent them to a class where a teacher say" Girls don't have the right to read and I will not teach you". That's why there would be fighting and the principal will send them to another country for reading.
After some time, they come back to their village and Mahlar will arrange a program about women's rights and she becomes famous Bramsh and other get tasks and then Bramsh dies because she becomes unconscious and the doctors say to go to the police station and bring the file then the police will do something. Therefore, it gets late so Bramsh dies. Mahal loved a boy so she will be also killed so Malahar handles and save the woman and talk about their rights.
