News headlines about heinous criminal acts in front of children such as kidnapping, abuse, assault, murder, and rape can psychologically effects the mind of children. Protecting children from harm and violence is not only the duty of parents but also the duty of authorities. In the past, habits and actions used to begin by seeing and imitating parents, family and society but nowadays news channels and social media have a great bond with actions of individuals. Rarely, youngsters and children watch crime acts on TV and follow the same acts, such as sexual harassment, stealing and murders.
Parents should set boundaries for their children and do not allow them to go and talk to everyone because they become what they see. If they live in a good environment then they acquire positive attitude and behaviors. Children should not be allowed to meet and receive gifts from strangers. The authorities, including the police should ensure the protection of children by implementing several useful measures in this regard. Police ought to put cameras on public places for their safety. Children should be given sexual education in primary schools so that they can recognize the difference of good and bad. It is a harsh but true fact that the world is no longer a safe place for innocent children.
