Sexual harassment in workplaces

 

Sexual assault is very much common in Pakistan. Due to sexual assault many men and women lost their precious lives.   Finally, it is my humble request to government of Pakistan to provide safety to the people of the country. Sexual harassment has become common in the workplace and learning environment. Unfortunately, this disgusting and immoral act is enhancing rapidly in Pakistan even though we are living in an Islamic country. In Pakistan, at least 11 cases of sexual abuse are reported on daily basis which is astonishing and horrible. However, the media reported more than 305 cases last year ( 2022 ). In 2022, a report showed that 1301 cases of sexual violence against women were heard in 44 courts in Pakistan which is noteworthy. Over 200 cases of sexual abuse were just reported in Karachi the previous year. On the other hand, according to the reports of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, 1957 incidents of honour killings were reported in the last 4 years. Every individual is not secure in school, the market, educational institutions even at home. Most of the females were being physically harassed in educational institutions. They are being sent for getting knowledge but they feel unsecured in such places. Therefore, I plead with the government to work on reducing such cases so that women can feel secure everywhere.
