Balochistan has a long and old tradition In the production of handicrafts. This tradition began centuries ago and still it is progressing day by day. Balochistan's handicrafts are known all over the world for their beauty and design. The richness in their color and their economical prices and rates are appropriate. Also besides being popular within the country, these are exported to different foreign countries there is a high demand for them, especially in western countries.
This work is done by women and girls. They don't need to go out of their houses to earn money because these are the best sources of earning a great amount of income and it makes them independent. They start sewing such clothes when they get free from their household work. Baloch people are prominent in the fields of embroidery even though in childhood, they are skilled in sewing extraordinary clothes.
Kalat and Khuzdar are the places where most people are famous for their embroideries.
Usage of colorful threads and silver wire makes their handicrafts more attractive. Not only this, their needlework can be seen on footwears, pillows, bedsheets, caps, carpets, purses, and etc.
No one can hide the fact that Balochi handicrafts are playing a vital role in the GDP of Pakistan. Baloch females should be encouraged by the government because they can bring fame to the country. Their skills are a source of pride for Pakistan and they can brighten the name of Pakistan all over the world.
