Dengue cases began increasing rapidly across Pakistan. It is woeful to hear that people are again being affected by dengue fever in Pakistan in September 2022. According to reports and predictions, the outbreak of dengue is occurring due to monsoon rains and floods.

Dengue patients are under treatment in different hospitals inside mosquito nets. Dengue has put its footsteps in major cities of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, etc.

This year, 943 cases are reported in Islamabad yet, 601 are from rural areas and 342 are from urban areas. Similarly, every day of September dozens of dengue cases is being confirmed in Sindh. According to the Sindh health department, a total of 1,227 people have been affected by dengue since 1st September.

It is to be mentioned here that three deaths have also been reported due to dengue. Not only this, but the dengue has also taken 9 lives of people in Karachi this month so far. On the other hand, Balochistan is also confronting the same issue.

Due to dengue situations are precarious in the whole country.  The dengue virus is transmitted by mosquitoes that foster in fresh water, which can accumulate quickly in pools, ponds, pots, and any open container after rainfall. That's why we need to cover the fresh water. Health experts are advising that the citizens ought to follow precautionary measures to prevent dengue. They have advised that people should wear full-sleeved shirts and use mosquito repellent sprays and lotions to preserve themselves from dengue mosquitoes. We must make others aware of these precautions.
