Child labor in Pakistan

Children are the beauty of every nation. The cute faces, sweet smiles, and the small naughtiness remind the parents of their childhood. Similarly, parents Love their children a lot and wish that their children should get every desire they want.

However, in so many countries or states, the governments are responsible for every child of the state to provide him proper education and environment. But unfortunately, in Pakistan, there are thousands of children who wondering on the roads to beg and are forced to work as laborers.

According to some estimates, Pakistan has the third-highest number of child laborers in the world after Mauritania and Haiti. While experts suggest that there has been a fourfold increase in child labor in the country over the last two decades. Likewise, the official figures are missing, since there has been no national survey of the child labor force for 20 years. Even though, there were no proper actions against those who abuse the rights of children. Finally, the government should start collecting data to assess the extent of child labor in the country and activate the relevant provincial and federal departments, while also building the capacity of law enforcers to recognize child abuse when they see it.
